Living Positive

On November 24th, 2023 the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) launched a national awareness campaign on U=U.

Starting in Fall 2023, guided by a community advisory committee, PHAC held consultations with over 150 individuals from key populations, community-based organizations, and healthcare services to help guide the development of a national awareness campaign. The campaign involves digital marketing ads targeting the general population and health professionals. The ads feature people living with HIV, with the key message that “Treatment can stop HIV from being passed on.”

The LIVING POSITIVE and U=U Campaign webpages are available to view at canada.ca/hiv and includes the following resources:

·        Guide: How to talk about: Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U)

·        Factsheet: Can’t pass it on: HIV treatment prevents transmission

·        Factsheet: Preventing HIV transmission: Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U) for health professionals

·        Guide: Preventing HIV transmission: Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U): Communication tips for health professionals

·        Posters: Can’t pass it on: U=U prevents HIV transmission

PHAC has also created a social media toolkit which includes posters and testimonial videos that have been adapted into shareable formats with suggested captions to make it easier to post on social media. Please feel free to include these resources in your organization's resource bank.
